I had carefully kept an eye on this Best Behavior cardigan all summer long, and now it's mine. And it really is as good as I thought it would be. Even better. The way the material floats and feels against my skin, how it always falls right and rarely needs readjusting.
It reminds me of the sea and all the beautiful things which comes with being near the ocean, the colour and the movement and the feeling of peace. I can wax poetic about anything and everything when I get my motor revved up. All jokes aside, the cardigan is pretty darn good. This is what I want when I spend a lot of money on something, an item which is going to blow all other options out of the water. Pun somewhat intended.

Where Is My Mind? - Pixies

Definitition of "insanity" by Albert Einstein: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

This is how I feel about malls lately. Poor selection. Being lied to by sales assistants who tell you you are "killing it", when you know you look like a beached whale. Seeing the same boring cuts in a variety of terrible colours.

You see, I have badun-a-dunk. Also known as junk-in-the-trunk, less eloquently referred to as "lady lumps". I cover them accordingly. Never will I suffer from muffin top or pants that fit too small in the thigh. I'd rather spend a small fortune at Outnet.

And spend I did. Winter is coming. I can't wear dresses to work forever! The top pair are Alexander McQueen, the middle Vivienne Westwood and the last Maharishi. I know they won't all work and I'll end up with one or two pairs at most. And while they will be expensive I think that they'll last me for 2-3 years and I won't have to go through this tedious exercise in patience and persistence again soon. Plus, when I think about the gas I save and the precious time not wasted sorting through piles of crap, I smile. It is very much worth it.

I should open a law firm in "justifications". I'd make millions.

When I think poncho my thoughts are usually invaded by images of pudgy people at sporting events and crossing guards. The words "cool" and "flattering" absolutely never come to mind. Looks like it's time to change my way of thinking.

Speed of Life - U2

I haven't been such a good blogger lately. But I have been extremely contemplative, slightly introverted and super industrious with my new job. I am having a hard time juggling all the things I want to do and be and life. And the sweetness of a steady paycheck just seems to rank top priority at the moment.

Beginning - Savath and Savalas

Fashion week incoming. And Acne has gifted us with their collection far before the rest get up and running. While I give them many points for being the early birds, I have to say nothing really stood out to me from this collection. I don't know whether it was the muted beiges against the white, or the fact that I never really get much from photos where everyone's crammed together. I think I'll have to wait to see other photos because usually Acne always brings on the wardrobe envy.

White Wedding - Billy Idol

Weddings, the most socially awkward gathering of my twenties, often peppered by the soft cushion of alcohol. I've found the key to nuptial ceremonial success is to be sure that you actually care about the happiness of the nuptials and are not attending merely out of obligation.

Whoever thought it would be so simple? And as you know, I am not an occasion shopper, so having this Calvin Klein dress on stand by has proved itself to be a clever investment.
































But where would a wedding be, without at least one frivolous, alcohol fueled, amorous advance? The young man pictured with my older sister was caught in an awkward moment with myself where the photographer insisted we get in close for a photograph together. As he wrapped his youthful arms around my torso and we both cheesed it up, I felt a pinch on my granny pants covered derriere. With an amused smile upon my face, I hissed through my teeth, "If I weren't drunk, I would smack the shit out you".

And with his thick Texan drawl, he smiled, winked and said "well sweetheart, may I suggest I get you another drink?"

Being groped by a twenty two year old really is one of the finer things in life.

Warm Night - The Concretes

I won't even pretend like I arrived to the Yokoo party in a reasonably timely manner. But I do think this winter, my cowl neck days have come (or large scarf). It would be like turning every outfit into a super cozy sweater. The only real issue is the selection of colours is too broad. I am always tempted to go with black or heather gray. What a snooze fest I am. I could go brighter and crazier but then I'm worried I won't be able to wear it with everything. Such a silly dilemma in comparison to the problems of the world . . .
