She Moves She - Fourtet

Laziness isn't becoming but moving is very hard work. I'm doing it in bits and pieces and like Aggy, who needs a moving truck when you have appendages and a short distance to walk?

Pictures to come soon. You are going to love it. I just know it.

Opened - Kathryn Williams

I love when something from our past makes a comeback with a vengeance. We can rebuilt you, make you stronger, better, faster and all that jazz. That's what is going on with the haute couture house, Carven. This spring Carven will launch their ready-to-wear line and so far, everything's looking awfully nice. The world needs more ready to wear. Just like I need more shoes. Always.

Bang Your Drum - Wolf Parade

And somewhere far away, someone heard the vociferous, piercing war cry of Sister Wolf.

Good Life - Kanye West feat T-Pain

Hope everyone's having a good and restful long weekend. I have been busy being sick (cough, COUGH, cough), going to work (despite being sick . . . much to the horror of my coworkers) and lusting after this bag. And being that I am moving into a house in a couple of days, I will probably never be able to afford another Marni product. And that's the way of my life, isn't it?

Eat, drink and be merry everyone.

I Got You Babe - Sonny and Cher

Fashion bores the shit out of me these days. Forgive me if my mind starts to wander. I submitted this image of my parents to My Parents Were Awesome. Correction: my parents are awesome.

I'm Trying - Milosh

Not even all the Marni in the world can drag me out of this funk I've been in. It's the sky darkening earlier, the cool quiet after the storm (of my sisters nuptial), the roughness of my cough (acquired from too much ripping and running), and another year coming to a close. Sometimes everything builds and I get a bit glum and sad. So I went to Neiman's the other day with the best laid plans of buying Marni (eyes glistening with glee) and left empty handed. The flats were too prissy, the red pumps were too small. I'm pretty sure I saw tears in the salesman eyes as I shuffled off into the sunset.

Shut Up - Madness

It would seem almost romantic comedy perfect that the week that my mouth would cause the utmost of trouble, I would wake up at the end of it with no voice. This morning my voice was gone and I wasn't pleased. But later, I realized what I thought was going to be a frustrating day turned out to be nearly pleasurable. I realized I was enjoying the silence radiating from with in. Maybe I wasn't the only one.

It's mind boggling how we're so amazingly dependent on our voices and our ability to express ourselves through sound. And yet, when left without it, I found every activity which involved communicating to be refreshing and new (I also felt twenty times more productive). Going to the library worked out perfectly, I wrote down what I wanted on a piece of paper and the librarian was pleased to see a quiet client. Picking up Pho, I pointed to the menu, smiled and nodded. Purchasing a dress, I wasn't able to be chatted up into looking around for anything else by a sales assistant. Not a bad day at all.

I should probably talk less in general. Seems to keep me out of trouble.

Untitled - Interpol

The Giving Tree narrated by Shel Silverstein.

I think this was sent to me with a definite reason. Though I'm not so sure.

Dayvan Cowboy - Boards of Canada

Suggested book titles:

The Lazy Girl's Guide To Getting Dressed: Just Wear Black and Unusual Shoes

Sweater - can't remember
Tee - H&M

Boots - Finsk
Headband - Homako

Rabbit Heart - Florence + The Machine

If I still lived in London, I would just take the 242 to Topshop to buy these Fifi Lapin cards. Then I would come home, sip some tea and start writing everyone I know. But since I don't live in London, I will lie here in bed and try and decide whether or not the shipping justifies the purchase.
