The Last Rose of Summer - Nina Simone

Oldies but goodies. The peak of the cherry blossoms in the spring, always last for such a short sweet time. Blink and you'll miss it. For me this symbolizes the end of spring time . . . as we're now lulling quietly into summer . . . but it also reminds me of a specific moment when I felt something else was definitely coming to a close. Is it possible to be both sad and happy about the state of life? I suppose so . . .

I love that dress with the cardigan and the cherry blossoms. You are so purdy! Pastels galore.

It's the great paradox of life, sweetness... how to feel both and hold them and not cave under the madness of it all.

i heart you so much in this post. I mean, not that I don't heart you anyway...but there's something so lovely here...in your words, and your body language.
