Before Today - Everything But The Girl

While surfing eBay this weekend, I came across the most amazing deal, located in NYC. The Ligne Roset sleeper sofa I've always admired going for $50?? Unheard of! I'm not in NYC, but Cornpuddin is. So like any other modern furniture pusher, I call my sister up and proceed to push the sleeper sofa off on her, offering to buy it for her modest apartment, under the thin guise that I would have a place to sleep when I came up to visit. All she had to do was go pick it up from the current owner. Good deal, right?

"F*ck no!" - Cornpuddin' said before curtly hanging up the phone in my ear.

So like any other modern furniture addict, I shrugged my shoulders and bought the sofa for myself (final price $202). Before today, I never thought I could ever afford this sofa. I'm so excited I can hardly sleep.

Bobby James - N.E.R.D.

This morning, I squeezed my body into the restaurant booth aligning myself on the seat with my sister and brother-in-law. Coffee is always free flowing at a family brunch and it is my most favourite time of the week. Jamesy's coffee invaded my nostrils and I welcomed it, ordering one of my own. When it arrived, I quickly began to doctor it with copious amounts of sugar. My brother-in-law (Jamesy), smiled grimly and said "you'll need that, this coffee is pretty assed out".

The Urban Dictionary has four unique meaning for "assed out":

1. out of luck

2. to be done. tired beyond the point of tired. running on empty. used instead of pass out.

3. A major drug high

And my boyfriend has his own meaning:

1. Coffee which was essentially brewed in someone's bowels and shot out into your coffee cup.

Cornpuddin', I'm confused by your query. I was simply expressing that the outnet.com sale sucked my flabby ass today. That's all. As a matter of fact, I think I'm done with all the frenzied bullshit. As soon as I use up my gilt.com credit, I think I'll cancel my membership there. The bottom line is I'm pissed and I'm sick of being pissed off about . . . clothes? Really? What the f*ck!? Every time Gilt.com has one of their stupidly cheap final sales, I find myself heart broken and angry over the sh*t I failed to buy at ridiculously crazy prices because some girl with a credit card who's not on her slow ass work computer got there before me. All Of My Thoughts - Spiritualized

The end of the week is finally here and it didn't arrive a day too soon. Some how this week has left me feeling a bit naked and helpless. I'm going to take some time to wallow in leisure this weekend and think. Smell some flowers perhaps (this is the first spring, allergies haven't attacked my nasal passage with a vengeance).

Dear Mum,

I had such a good time not consuming anything with you today. I love how our days together consist of spending very little on anything. We went to Anthropologie and found nothing good on sale. We continued to J. Crew and everything was "too pink". We ended up at Barnes and Noble and left without buying anything (but we sure did browse). I still want this book, however.
