Rest Ez - Flying Lotus

This is how I normally spend my Sundays.
Instead I am working :(
I can't wait to get back to a regular Sunday.
It's a very special production but a very hectic production.
Yesterday my Mum asked if I had gone to the production office. I told her "no".
She laughed and said "and you don't want to go there either, do you?"

No, I do not.

Light Moves Away - Arto Lindsay

A weekend ago or two, Cornpuddin' and I went to a great wedding in the mountains. This is true:

1. We were very tardy. Oh the embarrassment of pulling up in time to drive through the wedding photos. Cornpuddin' crouched down in the seat giggling hysterically while I tried to shimmy out of view while still steering the car. The evidence is on a roll of film in the background of the bride and groom.

2. We had a great time. I always worry about being stuck at a table of bozos because I'm always flying solo with one of my best girlies at my side. Luckily, this has never been the case and we always end up at tables full of delightful individuals.

3. We bonded. And took copious amounts of narcissistic photos as proof. Because sunlight like that, you don't find just anywhere.

Birthday - The Sugarcubes

Last week I celebrated my birthday. Though I've been too busy at work to gear up for it (or rather dread the thought of it), I did have a lovely dinner with family and friends. The older I get, the more I realize that the splendid company of loved individuals, is much better than any material present. Red Lobster had no idea that they were in for Swedish singing, Russian birthday songs and other shenanigans. Thank you to everyone who made it special. And Yasuyo and for the frosted donut birthday cake. Yasuyo adds a touch to every moment which makes it unforgettable.

Make It Easy - Ambitious Lovers

The weekend has arrived and not a second too soon. Since this is the first weekend in weeks that I'm not up to my ears in it, I'm going to relax and kick it on my back porch. If I were obscenely wealthy, I'd be kicking it in one of these super fun Damien Hirst designed deck chairs. But since we very well know that I'm not, an old rattan wicker will do. As a matter of fact, if we're talking obscene wealth, I'd buy one in every colour and annoy my neighbors with their brightness. What are your plans, lovies?

Oz - Stag Hare

For every crap day when it rains a fine piss, where you feel dejected and you are tired of people bitching you out (especially those you've never even met) . . . there's a rainbow somewhere . . . waiting for you to find it.

Natural Wild - Prince Lincoln & Royal Rasses

Things from Marni which one would buy if they wanted the world to think them a fancy lady, when deep down inside, you know you a ho . . .

PS - I don't believe in such "ho" nonsense. Now sexual liberation . . . there's an idea I can get behind.

Fountains of Spring - Prefuse 73

With every new season, I get hooked on a single lookbook and decide to try and mimic a good portion of the looks. There's always a fantastic selection from the La Garconne lookbooks/magazines. Here, I've picked out a few of my favourites. The only slight issue, the looks with the thigh high socks . . . would never fly in my work environment. Though television is fairly casual, if I waltzed into my office, wearing these, eyeballs would fall to the floor. So, the thigh high socks would have to wait for after office hours.

My most favourite look out of all of these? The boxy Rachel Comey top with the extremely tailored trousers. I love this look and will be probably repeating it myself, with pieces from my own wardrobe.

Yearnin' - Oliver Nelson

File this pair under: beautiful things which I want but don't necessarily need.

Something about hardware on a beautiful, simple shoe gets me every time. Lanvin makes the perfect combination of tough and sweet. Kind of like me (but I'm not perfect).

Horn - Nick Drake

Warmer days are behind us now and the cold front looks like it's hanging around this week. Sweet memories of bare legs, dance through my head.

Oil of Angels - Cocteau Twins

Hate stockings as much as I do? Good!
Send them here and they will be used to help clean up the BP oil spill in the gulf. Stockings soak up oil (so does hair and fur). Free your legs while saving our earth.

Easy - PJ Harvey

Guide To Lazy Style:

1. Find a great James Perse top on sale at Nordstrom Rack
2. Buy in three different colors.
3. Smile to yourself for being so clever/lazy.

Oldest trick in the book.

(Mine are actually black, maroon and sea green but you get what I'm saying).

The Last Rose of Summer - Nina Simone

Oldies but goodies. The peak of the cherry blossoms in the spring, always last for such a short sweet time. Blink and you'll miss it. For me this symbolizes the end of spring time . . . as we're now lulling quietly into summer . . . but it also reminds me of a specific moment when I felt something else was definitely coming to a close. Is it possible to be both sad and happy about the state of life? I suppose so . . .
