Rather lazy blog post but Sister Wolf challenged us to come up with our very own nomadic bag lady looks. The results were steller. Teapots, animals, pillows. Nothing was off limits to be used as an accessory. The Shoe Girl blew us all out of the water with her dramatic poses. I could only manage to pose for a couple pictures. I had to set up the camera myself and due to the obscene amount of layers I was wearing, I was melting after three shots.
I may be alone on this notion but I found myself thinking "damn, I look good" (minus the skirt). Expect a lot more of this madness from me this winter. Silly it may be, but warmth rules over all in the frosty months.

Of course I'm getting excited about fall. That question seems to keep reappearing on my facebook feed. And I'm not the only one. It seems everyone's getting bored with this summer. I guess that's what happens in adulthood. Adulthood earns two thumbs down for that notion. Structured felt bags are something I always fall hard for. These came from the recommendation of Park and Cube. The designer Joanna Figurniak can be found on a website which takes Visa . . . though I'm not sure if she ships internationally as I can't read Polish! Oh dear. In most cases I just order and hope for the best. That old saying about a fool with her money comes to mind . . .

The phrase which I learned in England that I still catch myself uttering only to fall upon deaf, confused ears. I wonder if "ace" will become as popular here as "cheers" is as of late?
The dating chart. No one gets it all and as I find myself dipping my toe back into the water slowly, I'm realizing getting two of these puts you well ahead of the game.
And last but not least, because Jil Sander always does a splendid coat. It is her absolute specialty in my opinion.

All weekend, I have felt like losing my shit over little things. Petty things. Tiny mistakes. Make no mistake of this, some days I wake up and generally want to punch faces in. Nothing soothes the angry like a package from overseas filled with three, paunchy blue boxes, tied with candy cane ribbon. The contents were of course beautiful and fantastic.
But the bonus. Oh the bonus. All summer long I have watched the website carefully, studying which necklaces to buy. "I like three but I should only buy two", I told myself in a calm, mature manner. Recently I came in touch with an old friend from England. Turns out the designer is his sister. Naturally, I bought all three! Gotta support my peeps.
Sometimes when you feel lonely and cut off from the rest of the world, it's nice to get a subtle reminder that you're never really that far away and those of similar mind always seem subtly connected.

Croquet season is among us! The official hipster sport of the summer. Let's listen to some 50's themed lounge music and drink some strong cocktails!
A few weeks ago, a friend of mine had a Mad Men themed birthday party. I've never watched the show but I jump at any opportunity to dress up like a trollop from another era. And while I always love an excuse to buy something new, this old trusty Anthropologie dress, did the trick quite nicely.
Props include: croquet mallet and a look that says "of course I'm going to miss the wicket, I've been drinkin', people".

That is exactly what I did today.
Check mark next to: sat in pajamas and blabbed with penpal on Skype for five hours.
I've also been staying home a lot lately as work has once again become a dry well so empty you can hear your voice echo when you shout the word "paycheck". It will get better with time, as it always does. But at the moment I will have to put myself on one of those self imposed spending freezes.
Now let's all have a laugh, because we know how well that always works out.

Best Behavior A/W 2010.
Bring on the stripes!
Because I can always use more . . .
Thinking of fall weather and fall dressing always makes me think of trees changing colors, New York City and piano jazz. What do you think of?

Have you ever seen a photo where everything falls so neatly into it's place? Her hair, her complexion and the dress. It's all too right together. The dress is the type of stuff I dream of wearing. Such beautiful design and probably flattering as well.
Reminds me of this great book, Drape Drape which K. Line told me about. It will be my book purchase for next week as I've already hit this week's book limit. Moderation my friends. Something I rarely practice, but you know, you got to try . . .
