It's All Good - Bob Dylan

Just when I think that Gap and I will split up over creative differences, they come out with an item so brilliant that I feel like it was all just a silly argument. We're meant to be together. After all, they were the first brand name I came to love, despite my indifference as of late. I wore this cable knit sweater all day today and felt super cozy, not wanting to leave my house like a hermit (it was bitter and cold). It's super soft and the fit is not bad for the girl with boobies. Run, don't walk ladies . . .

Home Away From Home - Arthur Russell

"Hi, I'm home".

No matter where you go in the world, you have to admit there's something strangely refreshing about coming home. But then it makes me question what makes a home a home. For me, home can be anywhere as long as my precious shoes are near by. Last week I went to St. Paul, Minnesota for work and the Bay Area for play (with the family). In the near future, I hope to make the Bay Area my home. I think I'd be happy there for a little bit. As long as you have good friends and family near by, you are always home.

I'm on vacation darlings. Well not really. More like work and then a long weekend in rainy San Francisco (which I love). But I'll be back next week to tell you all about it. It's been a wild ride. Bisous.

I really want this sweater but it reminds me of something . . .

The former social outcast in me just wants to buy it for nostalgia's sake. Because being a social pariah for most of my life, simply wasn't enough. All jokes aside, one of my favorite music videos ever. Everybody just wants to find where they belong.

- Living so close to Virginia ahem, wine country, means that it's perfectly acceptable to dress up in tweed/woolen blazers and go watch horse races in the name of sport and drink (mostly drink).

- People kept telling me my hair looked fabulous. Imagine the wonders I could do if I had combed it!

- When the boyfriend asked me what to wear to such an event, I responded "Bring your tweed". He texts back "I ain't got no tweed because I'm not an asshole". Well played boyfriend, well played.

(But on that note, he regularly dresses the part of "a day at the races" without even trying. That tweed hat is by no means ironic. So I think he opened his mouth and crammed his foot right inside).

A sexy song deserves some equally sexy long dresses. I love this beautiful compilation of two very nicely arranged songs. The talented man on the bongos (and composing) happens to be Cornpuddin's (my younger sisters) boyfriend!

Caravan - Van Morrison

As my father grows continuously more senior in this long road called "life" he has maintained that the one and only true meaning and purpose of this ride is to love, be loved and give love. I'm happy he has let me in on the secret because I've stopped searching so hard for meaning and started investing my time in a manner which portrays this action clearly. To give love isn't necessarily that of the romantic kind (which I've been chattering on about as of late) . . . but to love those around you purely and freely.

This weekend was full of love! Love of every type! From the moments I spent with the man that continues to make my heart sing, with his tolerance, kindness and sense of humor to the baby shower my older sister pulled together for our dear friend/neighbor (who was so shocked she couldn't even speak . . . man am I glad we didn't send her into early labor!).

I was dutifully hanging pink and green streamers over in my parent's fireplace, listening to Peas and my Mum playfully bickering in the kitchen and singing along with the Van Morrison my father had pumping through the entire house, when I stopped to think about it and felt an overwhelming sense of emotion.

Love is everywhere you look. Just open your eyes and let it in.

I bought this Calvin Klein capey, coat thing today. Let's hope the actual product is as luxurious as it's price tag. It wasn't cheap, but I always have faith in Calvin Klein's quality.

Sky Holds The Sun - The Bees

Hurry! Be quick! The sun made a rare appearance this weekend. I'll take a moment to use my favorite inappropriate British term: get yer tits out. Put on that summer dress you got an amazing deal on in August. Wear those sandals one last time. Shave your legs for nostalgia's sake. Because it won't last. But it's these days that make us more appreciative human beings.
