He's the new guy in town (by way of Net-A-Porter and the Outnet). Dandies beware this site will empty your wallet. What a beautiful selection of men's clothing. That's something I can always appreciate. In the words of a female friend with a penchant for men's clothes, "if I were a dude I would be up to my ears in ____________" . . . feel free to fill in your own vocab. But as a lady who considers herself to be fairly androgynous (at times) I took it upon myself to snap up the Paul Smith socks while shipping is still free (as part of their preview). Because who doesn't need a pair of $30 socks? Don't answer that question.

Parallel Minds - Oneohtrix Point Never

Another show, another working weekend.

This morning I was delighted by the prospect of having the office to myself which meant breaking out the Vivienne Westwood top which is too boobalicious for a regular work day. I paired it with Chanel flats and J. Crew cords (bought on sale for $13). As I sat at my computer gazing idly at the screen, my mind wandered off to all the twitter talk about London Fashion Week. I decided to have a quick peek at The Facehunter to see what the pretty folks of London were wearing. The very first picture which popped up on my screen was my dear friend Sofie, who I miss terribly.

It's a bizarre and beautiful world we live in when you can wonder about a friend who is very far away and then check a website to see what they're wearing that very day.

We may live in different worlds but my heart is always in London.

The Splendour - Pantha Du Prince

The splendor of leaping out of bed in the morning when you have some place to go. I am well aware that jobs are good for a great many things. I will not lie to you. A job to me is mostly good for paying my bills and getting dressed up. What's the point of having a closet full of clothes and nowhere to wear them? You look rather silly getting dolled up for the grocery store (unless you live in Miami, than you get a pass).

I can't bring myself to throw out this homemade dress even though the construction is poor. But this Rick Owens piece was another one of those things I've bought and never once regretted. I will wear it until it falls apart.

Note to self, clean mirror tomorrow. That smudge keeps reappearing.

Interlude From Orphee - Philip Glass

I love Hermès.
I have loved Hermès since I was a child. As my Mum drove past the store on route seven, I would sit in the backseat wondering what sort of merchandise such a grand looking establishment could hold.
I love the fact that their name gives people trouble. I have heard "Herms", "Hermees" and all sorts of other terrible concoctions of poor french pronunciation.
Well now there's more to love. I haven't looked at the prices of any of their furniture for fear of raising my own blood pressure. But I hope that one day I'll be able to afford a pillow. That is, after I finally buy my watch.

And if I owned that vanity, I would sit at it and admire myself for being a person who owns a Hermès vanity. I'd tell myself, "gurlll you done good". I probably shouldn't admit to such things. Then I would listen to Philip Glass.

It's good to have a plan. Even if it's a vacant one.

This was suppose to be the year I became a real adult and got real business cards (instead of sloppily scribbling my number down on a scrap of paper . . . like you Rebecca). So far I have made poor on that promise. But if I worked for Lego, my business card would come in the form of a little person with my information printed on their torso. How fun is that?

Sometimes you need something to look forward to each month. For me, my tried and true is the Dazed and Confused playlist. January was particularly good. My favorite songs from this month include "I Hate That You Love Me" and "Days". Helps the days pass quicker.

I am so boring these days. It's so bad, I've had to ban sweatpants from myself during daylight hours. You know things have taken a turn for the worse when you have to make rules about certain clothing items. I've just hit that impossible winter hump that comes every year and makes me think life is awful. In actuality, this feeling passes almost as quickly as it settles in. But since the only time I get dressed now is when I'm working, enjoy!

My dinner.
(No, not the naked man, Gutterminds).

With an assortment of frozen vegetables crowding my freezer (an inheritance from an ex boyfriend) and no place to put them . . . I resorted to storing them in our back yard, like buried treasure. Symbolic of the failed relationship in many ways. As I dug the hole in the snow with my bare hands, I asked myself for the umpteenth time why the passive aggressive neighbors hate my roommate and I so much.

At that moment, I swore that once a week, I would attempt to make a new dish with the frozen provisions until I finished them off and the backyard was empty.



Now while a naked man with a cute butt can encourage me to do most things short of highway robbery, this dish was particularly enticing because of the mascarpone. (If you were to smother an old tire in a cheese casserole I would definitely attempt to saw into it with a knife and fork). Because if Gino can cook this dish naked on national television by George, I can attempt to cook it clothed in my kitchen. All it all, it was fairly tasty. I did however substitute the the gammon for chicken breast . . . which I then overcooked. Ta-da! Dinner was served. I lurve British television.
